As if you don’t have enough on your plate the introduction of DPF’s are putting even more pressure on your finances, drivers are experiencing major problems with DPF (Diesel particulate filter).
Imagine your mouth is stuffed with cotton wool, it won’t be long before you will be gasping for breath, just by walking up the stairs becomes a painful task, diesel particulate filters work in a similar fashion, they are simply an obstacle which restricts gases vacating easily from the engine, they benefit the environment but not your pocket.
Now take all the cotton wool out of your mouth, forget the stairs you can now run faster because air is allowed to expel from your body freely, by removing the particulate filter from your vehicle has the same effect, your engine is able to breathe freely and expel gases without hindrance this means not only will you experience an increase in performance but fuel costs are dramatically reduced.
By using specialised software which makes a few changes to the ECU (Engine Control Unit) the DPF can easily be removed from your vehicle and eliminates error codes or future regeneration’s.
The DPF is simply a filter used in the exhaust system to remove the majority of soot particles in turn this causes a blockage in the exhaust system which will increase your fuel intake Most vehicles fitted with a DPF will need to have the filter replaced at some point as part of the service schedule if it hasn’t become a problem already.
The DPF is not a legal requirement or needed for the MOT test so the most cost effective solution is to remove the DPF from the exhaust system and deactivate the DPF functions from the ECU.
Most companies will just program the ECU to ignore the DPF but this is not the correct solution because the filter is still in place and will at some time block, you have a few choices we can either remove the filter element or replace the DPF with a straight pipe. Either way, the results are immediate, and you will start saving money instantly.
